November 12, 2025 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER -- A blue-chip forward Latrell Allmond has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Oklahoma State.
Â
The 6-foot-8 Allmond is a consensus top-40 recruit, rated as high as No. 28 by ESPN (the highest grade for an OSU recruit since Cade Cunningham in the Class of 2020).
Â
Originally from Southern Pines, N.C., Allmond plays his high school ball in Virginia. A three-time state champion and three-time all-state selection at John Marshall High School, he earned VHSL Class 2 Boys Player of the Year honors this past season after averaging 21.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. He's set to play his senior year at nearby Petersburg High.
Â
Oklahoma State head coach Steve Lutz said:
Â
"Cowboy fans are going to love watching Latrell. He's a serious-minded, hard working young man who comes from a great family, and he plays the game with a real edge. He can score at all three levels and impacts both ends of the floor with his versatility. We're looking forward to having him on campus next fall."
Â
Allmond is coming off a standout summer on the 3SSB circuit with Team Loaded VA and also participated in the prestigious NBPA Top 100 Camp.
Â
He chose the Cowboys over a long list of major programs, including Indiana, Tennessee, Maryland, Michigan State and Kansas.
Â
Allmond joins 6-5 guard Parker Robinson (New Market, Md./Overtime Elite) and 6-8 wing Jalen Montonati (Owasso, Okla./Owasso HS) in a fall signing class that has been ranked as high as No. 3 nationally by both ESPN and 247Sports. All three will be freshmen in 2026-27.
