Game flow
- It took just two hours and 56 minutes to play the game.
- It took just one hour and 17 minutes to play the first half. Oklahoma State had only three possessions in the first half and Kansas had just two. The two teams combined for just seven incomplete passes and two penalties in the first half.
- Oklahoma State scored a touchdown on its opening drive but squandered its other two first-half drives by missing a 44-yard field goal attempt and having a 19-yard field goal attempt blocked. Kansas went into the locker room with a narrow 10-7 advantage, then created separation with consecutive touchdown drives to start the second half. An OSU touchdown late in the third quarter was countered by two more Jayhawk touchdowns in the fourth that put the game out of reach.
- Excluding the final drive of the game when Kansas took a knee twice to run out the clock, the Jayhawks scored on each of their six offensive possessions (five touchdowns and one field goal).
Notes
- Oklahoma State was penalized just once for five yards in the contest to tie the second-fewest penalty yards in a game in school history. Only once has OSU gone an entire game without being flagged for a penalty (vs. Texas in 2022).
- Oklahoma State had by far its best road game of the season, setting road season-bests in scoring offense and scoring defense and total offense and total defense.
- Oklahoma State's 244 passing yards were its second-most of the season (291 vs. Baylor on Sept. 27).
- The Oklahoma State defense limited Kansas to 110 passing yards – the Jayhawks' lowest output of the season. KU's 110 passing yards were the fewest allowed by OSU to an FBS offense this season. The Cowboys did limit FCS UT Martin to 109 passing yards in the season opener.
- The Oklahoma State defense limited Kansas to just one offensive play of longer than 20 yards in the first half, but the Jayhawks ripped off four offensive plays of longer than 20 yards in the second half and had a kickoff return of 58 yards.
- For the first time since the season opener seven games ago, Oklahoma State held a lead at the end of the first quarter.
- Quarterback Zane Flores completed 22-of-28 passes for a career-high 235 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in his return to action after missing Oklahoma State's last three games to injury.
- By halftime, Gavin Freeman had already matched his career high in receptions and set a new career high in receiving yards. He finished with seven catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.
- Zane Flores connected with Shamar Rigby for a 12-yard touchdown pass on the opening possession of the game. It was Rigby's first collegiate touchdown and marked the third time this season that Oklahoma State scored a touchdown on its first offensive possession.
- The Oklahoma State defense held Kansas to a field goal on its opening possession. It marked the first time since the season opener seven games ago that the opponent did not score a touchdown on its opening possession against the Cowboys.
