LUBBOCK, Texas - A season-high 662 offensive yards helped the Oklahoma State football team erase an early 17-point deficit and eventually take down Texas Tech, 70-53, in a shootout at Jones AT&T Stadium on Saturday.Â
After allowing 38 points in the first half, the Cowboys (8-0, 5-0 Big 12) outscored the Red Raiders, 42-15, over the final two frames, helping Oklahoma State remain undefeated in 2015.Â
The two squads swapped leads into the fourth, but J.W. Walsh's one-yard touchdown run with 12:04 remaining in the contest put the Cowboys up for good. Walsh then helped seal the victory with touchdown passes of 73 and 75 yards, capping off a stellar performance for the senior quarterback.Â
Also starring offensively was wideout James Washington, who finished with a career-high 200 receiving yards on four catches. The sophomore became the first Cowboy to haul in 200 yards through the air since 2011, when Justin Blackmon notched a 205-yard performance against Kansas State.Â
A late interception return for a touchdown helped Oklahoma State record scoring plays in all three phases of the game, as the Cowboys registered eight offensive scores and earned a special teams touchdown on Jalen McCleskey's 67-yard punt return in the third.Â
The victory marked OSU's seventh-straight triumph over the Red Raiders, who fell to 5-4 on the season after Saturday's conference battle
Oklahoma State will return home for its next contest, as the Cowboys host TCU on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Boone Pickens Stadium.Â
