OSU Softball wins fall scrimmage over McClennan
October 03, 2025 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATERÂ - The Oklahoma State softball team rolled past McLennan, 4-2, in a fall scrimmage Friday night at Cowgirl Stadium.Â
Â
RyLee Crandall retired all nine batters she faced and struck out four en route to earning the victory. Olivia Garrett took the loss for the Highlanders.
Â
An RBI double from Karli Godwin in the third inning gave the Cowgirls their first run of the game. RBI singles from Godwin and Amanda Hasler in the fifth extended the lead to 3-0.
Â
The Cowgirls controlled the pace for most of the extended game until the Highlanders made things interesting in the 10th inning with a pair of runs before Madison Hoffman slammed the door by striking out Lily King to stop the threat.
Â
Oklahoma State banged out 10 hits to McLennan's four, with Cowgirls Melina Wilkison, Rosie Davis, Godwin and Jayelle Austin each recording two hits in the contest.
Â
"I'm really happy with the amount of people that we're moving around," said OSU head coach Kenny Gajewski. "This is a big roster, and there's a lot of movement, so it's hard to get continuity. It was good to see our returners start to settle in after seeing some live pitching other than ours. I thought they started to do some nice things, and that can be inspiring for the new kids that are out here pressing and not getting as many at-bats. I'm happy with the leadership on that, and I thought the pitching was really good here today."
Â
OSU pitchers Crandall, Preslee Downing, Ruby Meylan and Hoffman combined to strike out 12 Highlander batters.
