STILLWATER- Oklahoma State women's tennis mourns the loss of former player Lena Ruppert, who passed away this week after a brave battle with cancer.
Born in Weiden, Germany, Ruppert arrived in Stillwater in 2016, helping the Cowgirls capture a Big 12 regular season title and reach the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament.
During her standout freshman season, Ruppert went 13-4 in singles in dual matches while being named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team. She asserted her dominance early, winning her first 46 games to begin her collegiate career.
Ruppert would go on to play professionally from 2018-21, reaching a career-high ranking of 816 while collecting 78 wins in that span.
