Cowgirl Basketball Reveals Non-Conference Slate
September 04, 2024 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team unveiled its non-conference schedule today with the Cowgirls slated to play nine of those 11 games inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
OSU's nine non-league home dates mark its highest total since a nine-game slate in 2018-19.
The Cowgirls will tip off their third campaign under the direction of head coach Jacie Hoyt on Oct. 29 with an exhibition contest against Southern Nazarene in Stillwater.
OSU will begin its regular season with a six-game homestand starting with its opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Nov. 4. The Cowgirls will then face Oral Roberts on Nov. 7. The Golden Eagles, who won 21 games and reached the WNIT last season, will be the opponent for the Cowgirls' N7 outing, which serves to honor the state's rich Native American heritage.
On Nov. 11, OSU will play host to Texas Southern on Military Appreciation Day. Five days later, the Cowgirls will Remember the 4 when Fairfield comes to town. The Stags are coming off a 31-2 campaign, including a 20-0 mark in league play, and reached the first round of the NCAA Championship.
Central Arkansas will visit Stillwater on Nov. 20 for OSU's annual Class at the Court game with students and educators from across the state attending the contest. The Sugar Bears tallied a 21-win season a year ago and competed in the WNIT.
The Cowgirls will close the homestand on Nov. 25 when Chicago State comes calling.
OSU will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., for a pair of games at the Daytona Beach Classic. On Nov. 29, the Cowgirls will battle SEC foe and 2024 WBIT participant Arkansas before taking on Richmond the following day. The Spiders finished last year with a 29-6 mark and earned a spot in the NCAA Championship field.
The month of December will see OSU play all three games at home with the Cowgirls returning to Stillwater to face Houston Christian on Dec. 4. Two days later, OSU will host Alabama State before wrapping up the non-conference portion of its schedule on Dec. 16 against McNeese.
