September 03, 2024 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – With the NFL season right around the corner, it's time to take a look at all of the Cowboys in the NFL and where they'll begin their respective seasons.
10 former Cowboys spread across eight different teams made the final 53-man rosters, highlighted by defensive lineman Emmanuel Ogbah set to enter his ninth season of professional football.
Ogbah and the Dolphins open their season at home against Tyler Lacy and the Jacksonville Jaguars at noon on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Hard Rock Stadium. Lacy enters his second season as a Jaguar after tallying 12 total tackles in his rookie campaign last season.
Former Pokes Justice Hill and Tylan Wallace have made themselves at home in Baltimore with the Ravens, with the former gearing up for his sixth season of professional football, while Wallace is set to enter his fourth year. The duo will begin their season in the first game of the year on Thursday, Sept. 8, on the road against the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Former Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Chuba Hubbard is back for his fourth year of pro ball and is slated to be the starting running back for the Carolina Panthers this year. Hubbard and the Panthers start out on the road this week against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, with kickoff set for noon CT.
The Chicago Bears boast two former Cowboys, with former All-Big 12 offensive lineman Teven Jenkins and former OSU team captain Amen Ogbongbemiga finding homes in Chicago. The latter joined the Bears this offseason after playing his first three years of professional football with the Los Angeles Chargers, while Jenkins is returning for his fourth season with the Bears.
Our pair of Bears open their season against former Cowboy Mason Rudolph and his Tennessee Titans at noon on Sunday. Rudolph joined the Titans this past offseason after spending his first four years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he threw for over 3,000 yards and tallied 19 touchdowns.
Former Poke Jaylen Warren has solidified his place in Pittsburgh with the Steelers as he's set to enter his third season in the NFL. Warren and the Steelers begin their season on the road, facing off against the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta at noon on Sunday.
Rounding out our Cowboys in the NFL, Malcolm Rodriguez is back for his third year with the Detroit Lions. The former All-American linebacker is looking to build off his sophomore season in the NFL last year, totaling 22 combined tackles to go with one forced fumble on the year. Rodriguez and the Lions will play host to the Los Angeles Rams at 7:20 p.m. CT on Sunday evening for the first edition of Sunday Night Football this season.
