Epps, Lopez Earn Doubles Main Draw Bid in North Carolina

CARY, N.C. – Gracie Epps and Marcela Lopez of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team played their way into the doubles main draw at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, with a win on Tuesday.
The 43rd-ranked pairing outlasted the No. 36 duo of Emma Charney and Imogen Haddad of USC in a super breaker, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, [10-7], to become one of eight teams to advance through the qualifying draw.
Epps saw her singles run come to an end on Tuesday morning, falling to Tennessee's No. 62 Elza Tomase, 6-2, 6-1.
Ange Oby Kajuru and Anastasiya Komar will see their first action in the ITA All-American Championships when the opening rounds of the singles and doubles main draws begin play on Wednesday. No. 5 Kajuru will meet No. 105 Ashton Bowers from Texas while No. 11 Komar with match up with No. 45 Lily Jones of Michigan, with both matches set to begin at 9 a.m. CT.
Kajuru and Komar will join Epps and Lopez in the main draw and enter as the top overall seed, taking on Washington's No. 17 pairing of Reece Carter and Alexia Jacobs. Epps and Lopez's opponents and match times for both Cowgirl doubles teams are still to be determined.
