Final Results
OLYMPIA FIELDS, ILL. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team made a charge up the leaderboard on Saturday on its way to a third-place finish at the Olympia Field/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club.

The event was slated for a Sunday finish, but was altered for a 36-hole day on Saturday due to potential inclement weather. All but the final group were able to finish play on Saturday evening with play eventually finishing Sunday morning.

The Cowboys used a 277 during their morning round to rise from 10th place into fourth place heading into the final round. OSU would card a 2-under 278 during its third round to finish at 1-under 839 and tied with North Carolina.

Georgia Tech's 8-under 272 resulted in an 828 total, which was one shot better than Arizona State in the team race.

Sophomore Ethan Fang followed an opening 68 with a 66 to move into a tie for second place. The transfer from California went out in 3-under 32. He added two more birdies on his second nine before closing with his lone bogey of the day on his final hole.Â

Fang would close with a 1-over 71 to finish at 5-under 205 and alone in fifth place.

Sophomore Eric Lee, also a transfer from California, bounced back from a 76 with a 68 to climb 29 spots into a tie for 38th place. He would go on to fire his second consecutive 68 to move another 16 spots into a tie for 22nd place at 2-over 212.

Sophomore Preston Stout also used a sub-70 to move up the leaderboard. After opening with a 70 he was a stroke better with a 69 during his second round to move into a tie for 14th place. With a 73 during his third round, he would finish at 212 as well.

Freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson's 74 tied him for 43rd place with 18 holes to play. He would close with a 69 to get in with a 214 total and tied for 32nd place.

Junior John Wild posted his second consecutive 75 to sit in sole possession of 66th place. He would finish with a 220 total after posting a 70 during his third round to tie for 60th place.

The Cowboys will be back in action on Oct. 7 when then begin play at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament in Hockley, Texas.
