Cowboy Basketball to host Oct. 26 charity scrimmage with SMU
September 19, 2024 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER -- Oklahoma State and SMU are teaming up for heart health with a charity men's basketball scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The game time will be announced soon.
"Heart disease and stroke are two of the leading killers worldwide and have impacted millions of families, including my own," said Steve Lutz, first-year Oklahoma State head coach. "We're excited to give fans an early look at Cowboy Basketball while raising awareness and support for an important cause."
Volunteers from the Eddie Sutton Foundation will be on hand to collect donations on behalf of the American Heart Association to help fund groundbreaking research, increase access to care, train millions in CPR and help save lives. Learn more at heart.org.
Admission and parking are otherwise free, and all seating general admission. The arena's east doors will open one hour before tip-off.
Lutz brings a revamped roster and a fun, up-tempo style to Stillwater. This scrimmage will be fans' only opportunity to see the new-look Cowboys in action before their Nov. 4 season opener against Green Bay.
SMU is beginning a new era of its own in the ACC under former USC coach Andy Enfield. The schools haven't met publicly since 2011 when the Cowboys edged the Mustangs in double overtime at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. SMU last played a regular season game in Stillwater back in 2005.
Fans can secure seats for all 15 regular season home games at a discounted rate by purchasing 2024-25 Cowboy Basketball season tickets. For more information, visit okstate.com/tickets or call the OSU Ticket Office at 877-255-4678.
