Series History: Familiar Foes to Battle in Tulsa

STILLWATER – In-state opponents Oklahoma State and Tulsa will meet for the 77^th time on Saturday in the Gateway First Bank Turnpike Classic.

In a series that dates back to 1914, Oklahoma State leads 44-27-5 and has won nine straight. The only school that OSU has played more than Tulsa is Oklahoma, having played the Sooners 118 times.

The Golden Hurricane hold a 21-16-2 advantage in games played in Tulsa, but the Cowboys have won the last three on the road by a combined score of 135-80.

Mike Gundy is 6-0 in his career against Tulsa, winning by an average score of 44.5-22.7. Golden Hurricane head coach Kevin Wilson has never faced the Cowboys.

OSU won the most recent meeting, 28-23, in Stillwater in 2021, scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter to overcome a seven-point deficit. A 98-yard kickoff return touchdown by LD Brown was the go-ahead score before a Jaylen Warren rushing score put the game away.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa, with the game to be broadcast on ESPN2 and carried live on the Cowboy Radio Network.
