Series History: Familiar Foes to Battle in Tulsa

STILLWATER – In-state opponents Oklahoma State and Tulsa will meet for the 77th time on Saturday in the Gateway First Bank Turnpike Classic.
In a series that dates back to 1914, Oklahoma State leads 44-27-5 and has won nine straight. The only school that OSU has played more than Tulsa is Oklahoma, having played the Sooners 118 times.
The Golden Hurricane hold a 21-16-2 advantage in games played in Tulsa, but the Cowboys have won the last three on the road by a combined score of 135-80.
Mike Gundy is 6-0 in his career against Tulsa, winning by an average score of 44.5-22.7. Golden Hurricane head coach Kevin Wilson has never faced the Cowboys.
OSU won the most recent meeting, 28-23, in Stillwater in 2021, scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter to overcome a seven-point deficit. A 98-yard kickoff return touchdown by LD Brown was the go-ahead score before a Jaylen Warren rushing score put the game away.
