Series History: Cowboys to Meet South Dakota State for First Time

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State is set to open its 2024 campaign against two-time defending FCS national champion South Dakota State.
The Cowboys will look to win their ninth-straight season opener and their program-record setting 29th consecutive home opener on Saturday.
OSU has outscored opponents 888-300 in home openers in the Mike Gundy era, winning by an average score of 47-16.
This will mark the first-ever meeting between Oklahoma State and South Dakota State, with it also being the first match-up against an FBS team for Jackrabbit head coach Jimmy Rogers.
The Cowboys are 15-0 against FCS opponents in the Mike Gundy era, defeating opponents 48-10 on average. This will be the third time in four seasons that OSU has opened against an FCS team, having defeated Central Arkansas last year and Missouri State in 2021.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in a sold-out Boone Pickens Stadium. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and be broadcast live on the Cowboy Radio Network.
