Cowboys in the NFL: Preseason Roundup
August 27, 2024 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Several former Oklahoma State Cowboy Football standouts are set to begin their professional seasons next week as the National Football League approaches the start of its 2024-25 season.
19 former Pokes are currently on NFL rosters after the conclusion of preseason, with rosters to be finalized at 3 p.m. CT on August 27. A look at some of the highlights from the Cowboys in the NFL during preseason:
After an offseason move where he joined the Tennessee Titans, former All-American quarterback Mason Rudolph has enjoyed a solid preseason campaign in his new digs. He displayed his effectiveness in the pocket as he totaled 365 yards in 31 completions with a touchdown and no interceptions during preseason play.
Sticking in the AFC South, former Cowboy Tyler Lacy is back for another year with the Jacksonville Jaguars after posting 12 total tackles in his rookie season. The 6-foot-4 defensive lineman impressed once again during camp this offseason and finished preseason with three total tackles and 0.5 sacks.
Former Fiesta Bowl champions Jaylen Warren and Malcolm Rodriguez were able to catch up after their respective teams faced off during preseason, with both former Pokes set to enter their third year of professional football. In his two seasons with the Steelers, Warren has amassed more than 1,600 all-purpose yards and rushed for five touchdowns, while Rodriguez has totaled 109 tackles to go with one sack and two forced fumbles in two years with the Lions.
2018 Biletnikoff Award finalist Tylan Wallace rose to the headlines last season for his game-winning punt return in overtime for the Baltimore Ravens, but this play from preseason should catch everyone's eye too. Wallace looks set to return to the Ravens for his fourth season of professional football after a good preseason in which he caught four receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown.
Former star linebacker Devin Harper has found a home in Cincinnati as he enters his second season as a Bengal, looking at a more prominent role after joining the team last season. Harper has enjoyed a great preseason with the Bengals where he totaled 22 tackles.
Joining Harper in Cincinnati is former Cowboy running back Elijah Collins, who signed with the Bengals as a free agent after going undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft.
