Gordon II Named to Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List

STILLWATER- Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watch list, it was announced Wednesday.

First introduced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber of Commerce in Tyler, Texas, the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity.

Additionally, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: Played football at and graduated from a Texas High School and/or currently playing at Texas D1 four-year college.

The reigning Doak Walker award winner and a unanimous All-American, Gordon II is looking to claim the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose award for the second consecutive season.

The junior led the nation last season in rushing yards (1,732), yards from scrimmage (2,062), 100-yard games (9), 150-yard games (5), 250-yard games (2) and carries of at least 20 yards (21), 30 yards (14), 40 yards (7) and 70 yards (2), while finding the endzone 22 times, 21 of which came on the ground.

Gordon II is one of 93 players to appear on the watch list, including 16 from the Big 12. He is also one of 17 running backs recognized and one of four returning finalists from a year ago, joining Boise State's Ashton Jeanty, Alabama's Jalen Milroe and Liberty's Kaidon Salter.

The recipient will be announced at the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet on January 22, 2025, in Tyler, Texas.
