Cowboys Picked Third in Big 12 Football Media Preseason Poll

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football is one of three teams that received double-digit first-place votes in the Big 12 Football Media Preseason Poll that was announced Tuesday morning as the Cowboys were selected to finish third.
The 2023 Big 12 runner-up, OSU (14 first-place votes) was edged out by first-place Utah (20 first-place votes) and second-place Kansas State (19 first-place votes). No other team received more than five votes for first or more than 800 total points in the poll.
It marks the second time in the past three years that the Cowboys have been selected in the top three of the preseason poll. OSU has also played in two of the past three Big 12 Championship games.
With the season-opening game set for August 31 at Boone Pickens Stadium, less than nine weeks remain until the 2024 season kicks off. Oklahoma State football season tickets are sold out, but fans can purchase a mini-plan that includes tickets to home games against Utah, West Virginia and Texas Tech.
Single-game tickets will be available for purchase July 19 at 9 a.m. for POSSE members and at 5:30 p.m. for the general public. The remaining tickets for mini-plans and single-game tickets are returned visiting team tickets and are in the visiting team areas of Boone Pickens Stadium.
