Preston Stout Claims All-Big 12 Honors

IRIVNG, Texas – Oklahoma State's Preston Stout has been named a first-team All-Big 12 selection it was announced today with the release of the men's golf all-conference honors by the league office.
A freshman from Richardson, Texas, Stout earned his first career top five at The Clerico in Tulsa where he carded rounds of 65, 68 and 70 for a 7-under 203 total to finish third. His fall was also highlighted by his performance at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament where he notched a 3-1-1 mark.
In OSU's first event of the spring, Stout fired an opening 62 at the Amer Ari Invitational to match the school's 18-hole scoring mark. He also used a second-round 69 to finish at 2-under 211 at the Pauma Valley Invitational where he tied for 12th place.
Stout tallied his first career victory in dramatic fashion at the Big 12 Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Texas. After opening with a 74 he reeled off rounds of 69, 67 and 69 to finish at 9-under 279. His final round included a 35-foot birdie putt on the final hole to secure medalist honors.
The following day, Stout teed it up at the Veritex Bank Championship, the Korn Ferry Tour event at the Texas Rangers Golf Club. He would go on to fire rounds of 67, 64, 68 and 67 to finish at 18-under 266 and tied for 22nd place.
With his selection, he becomes the 17th Cowboy freshman named to the All-Big 12 squad.
