Two members of Steve Lutz's new Oklahoma State men's basketball coaching staff -- associate head coach James Miller and assistant coach Mike Ekanem -- have been selected to participate in the prestigious TopConnect Basketball Symposium next week in Las Vegas.
Â
TopConnect, developed by ETSU athletic director Dr. Richard Sander, identifies top assistant basketball coaches in the country and connects them with athletic directors, providing tremendous networking and leadership development opportunities for both parties. Now in its seventh year, the annual symposium also includes educational programming with a variety of successful leaders and speakers from across the industry.
Â
The 2024 symposium is scheduled for June 10 at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center.
Â
Miller joined the Oklahoma State men's basketball staff in April after previously serving as associate head coach at both Mississippi State and New Mexico State. In nine seasons as the Division I level, he's been part of postseason runs at five different schools while collecting nearly 200 wins.
Â
Ekanem (pronounced like "economy" without the "y") arrived in Stillwater in early May. He's spent time an assistant coach at George Mason and Sam Houston and served on support staffs at Arkansas, Texas A&M, Nevada and Memphis as well as with the San Antonio Spurs.
