Cowgirl Basketball Picks Up Academic All-Big 12 Honors

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team had three players honored for their work in the classroom with the announcement of the 2024 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team by the league office today.
Junior Anna Gret Asi, redshirt freshman Praise Egharevba and senior Lior Garzon all received first-team distinction. With the trio of first-team selections, head coach Jacie Hoyt's squad has produced a combined seven first-team selections over the past two seasons.
"We are thrilled to honor Big 12 student-athletes for their academic success," Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark said. "These individuals have achieved greatness both on the field and in their academic pursuits. I would like to congratulate each and every one of our Academic All-Big 12 and Commissioner's Honor Roll recipients."
The team recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at conference institutions that participate in winter sports. The sports included for the winter season are men's basketball, women's basketball, equestrian, gymnastics, men's swimming and diving, women's swimming and diving and wrestling.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
