Kilfoyl Sweeps Pitcher of the Week Awards for Third Time This Season

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Lexi Kilfoyl has won both Big 12 and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors following her performances against then-No. 2 Oklahoma this weekend, it was announced today.
The honors mark her third awards of the year, having won both weekly awards previously on Feb. 27 and April 2. She's the first pitcher in school history to sweep the awards on three separate occasions. It also marks the fifth career Big 12 honor for the Land O' Lakes, Fla., native.
Against the No. 2 ranked scoring team in the nation, Kilfoyl picked up two decisions and did not give up an earned run in seven innings of relief work. She struck out five batters and held a team with the second-best slugging percentage in the nation to only one extra-base hit and four hits total.
Kilfoyl and the Cowgirls begin their postseason with the Big 12 championship this week, as they're set to face off against BYU at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, at OGE Field at Devon Park.
