Cowboys’ Season Comes To An End At NCAA Championship

CARLSBAD, Calif. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team saw its season draw to a close with the third round of play at the NCAA Championship on Sunday at Omni La Costa's North Course.
The Cowboys used a 299 during their third round to move up three spots into a tie for 23rd place with Notre Dame at 43-over 907. Following Sunday's round, the field was cut in half with the top 15 teams advancing to Monday's final round of stroke play, which will determine the eight-team match play bracket.
Illinois moved into first place at the par-72, 7,538-yard layout with its 282 total to stand as the only team under par and six shots clear of the field at 2-under 862.
Ohio State's Adam Wallin carded a 3-under 69 to move into the individual lead at 211.
Fifth year Rayhan Thomas paced OSU's starting five with his low round of the event, a 1-over 73, to finish at 223 and tied for 51st place.
Senior Jonas Baumgartner also carded a 73, which featured six birdies, to finish tied for 60th place at 224.
Preston Stout wrapped up his freshman campaign with his low round of the event as well, a 74, to move into a tie for 101st place at 229.
Fellow freshman Gaven Lane tied for 113th place at 231 after posting a 79 during his third round.
After being substituted out for the second round, Bo Jin returned to the lineup and posted an 81 to finish in 154th place.
