Cowboy Golf Through 36 Holes At NCAA Championship

CARLSBAD, Calif. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 305 during the second round of action at the NCAA Championship on Saturday to stand in 26th place at Omni La Costa's North Course.
The Cowboys' 608 total puts them a shot behind LSU at the par-72, 7,538-yard layout. Virginia holds a three-stroke lead with its 577 total.
The field will be cut to 15 after tomorrow's final round in preparation for Monday's final round of stroke play.
Stanford's Karl Vilips leads the individual race by five shots with his 7-under 137 total.
Fifth year Rayhan Thomas paced the OSU starting five, coming in tied for 54th place with a 6-over total of 150 after signing for a 76 on Saturday.
Senior Jonas Baumgartner moved into 67th place after signing for a 75 to stand at 151.
Freshman Gaven Lane finished the day tied for 91st place at 152 after posting a 78.
Classmate Preston Stout carded a 76 during his second round to stand at 155 and tied for 117th place.
Fifth year Hazen Newman entered the lineup as a substitute on Saturday and carded a 79.
Of note, Baumgartner and Thomas were honored on Saturday as PING All-Central Region picks, which were announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
