Kajuru Becomes All-American, Cowgirls Advance in NCAA Individual Championships

STILLWATER– Ange Oby Kajuru advanced to the Sweet 16 of the singles and doubles draws, along with her partner Anastasiya Komar, in the NCAA Individual Championships at the Greenwood Tennis Center on Tuesday.
No. 3 Kajuru defeated No. 47 Isabella Pfennig from Miami in the Round of 32 of the singles draw, 6-4, 1-6, 6-2, to advance to Wednesday's Sweet 16. With the win, she also clinched ITA All-American status for the first time in her career.
In doubles, No. 2 Kajuru and Komar beat No. 21 Carol Lee and Kate Sharabura of Georgia Tech, 7-5, 6-2, to advance to the second round on Tuesday.
Kajuru will take on Vanderbilt's No. 13 Celia-Belle Mohr in the singles Sweet 16 on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., while Kajuru and Komar will face the No. 44 pairing of Kira Reuter and Amelia Honer of UCSB at 4 p.m. at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
