STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Lexi Kilfoyl has been named a Top 26 finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, it was announced today.
Kilfoyl has an ERA of 1.16 and leads the Big 12 in shutouts (6) and victories (19). She is second in the conference in ERA and strikeouts (109). Kilfoyl also ranks in the top 20 in the nation in a handful of statistics: ERA (seventh), shutouts (16th) and victories (17th). Of her six shutouts, four were against ranked opponents, including a pair of complete-game shutouts against then-No. 2 Texas, the No. 2 offense in the nation at that time.
Enjoying a career season in her final year of collegiate softball, Kilfoyl has set multiple single-season career highs so far: victories (19), shutouts (six), saves (three), and opponents' batting average (.173).
Kilfoyl has swept the Big 12 and NFCA Pitcher of the Week awards on two separate occasions this season, the first pitcher in school history to do so.
Kilfoyl joins Vanessa Shippy (2018), Madi Sue Montgomery (2019), Carrie Eberle (2021), Kelly Maxwell (2022 and 2023) and Rachel Becker (2023) as OSU student-athletes to be Top 26 finalists for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.
The top 10 finalists will be revealed on May 15, with the top three set to be announced on May 20.
