Cowboy Golf Fourth At Haskins Award Invite

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 36-hole total of 573 on Saturday during the first day of action at the Augusta Haskins Award invitational to grab sole possession of fourth place at Forest Hills Golf Club.
During the morning action, the Cowboys carded a 3-under 285 total to share third place with Texas and sit just four shots off the lead held by North Carolina. The Tar Heels would add a 279 during their afternoon round to build a 10-shot cushion over Augusta.
OSU's 288 during its second round put it three shots out of second place with 18 holes to go.
Illinois' Jackson Buchanan signed for an 8-under 136 total to lead the individual race by three shots.
A pair of Cowboys opened with 70s, with seniors Jonas Baumgartner and Bo Jin each posting their 2-under totals to come in tied for fourth place after the opening round.
Baumgartner would follow with a 71 to stand at 141 and tied for seventh place, while Jin added a 72 to share 10th place at 142.
Freshman Preston Stout was a stroke back of the duo with his 71 tying him for 12th place before signing for a 76 during the afternoon to come in tied for 32nd place at 147.
Fifth year Rayhan Thomas opened with a 74 to stand in a tie for 34th place. He would bounce back with a 2-under 70 during his second round to move into a tie for 17th place at 144.
Freshman Gaven Lane's opening 77 tied him for 64th place. After carding a 75 during his afternoon round, he moved into a tie for 50th place at 152.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. (EST). Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
