Cowgirl Basketball Adds Inside Presence With Transfer Stacie Jones

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has signed a veteran interior presence in transfer Stacie Jones it was announced this week by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.
"Stacie is going to provide us with a much-needed rebounding ability and inside presence. Her athleticism is going to allow us to get back to playing the fast-paced tempo with which we want to play," Hoyt said.
'She is a natural connector of people and I believe her electric personality and work ethic are going to make her a fan favorite."
A 6-1 forward, Jones competed last season at Mercer after spending the previous three seasons at Kennesaw State and brings 110 games of collegiate experience to Stillwater.
This past year, Jones started all 32 of the Bears' games, finishing as the squad's second-leading scorer at 11.8 points per game. She was also second in rebounding at 6.8 boards per contest. Additionally, Jones dished out 41 assists to go with 23 blocks and 22 steals on her way to earning second-team All-Southern Conference honors from both the league's coaches and the SoCon Sports Media Association.
The Kathleen, Ga., native appeared in 31 games as a junior, averaging 8.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, Jones averaged 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds over 28 games. She was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team in 2020-21 after averaging 10.9 points and 7.0 boards per outing.
As a prep standout at Veterans High School, Jones was both a 1,000-point scorer and 1,000-point rebounder for her career. An all-state selection, she helped lead the basketball team to the elite eight round of the state playoffs and helped guide her volleyball team to the state tournament as well.
