Position Preview: Defensive Line
April 22, 2024 | Cowboy Football
OSU's defensive line lost 36 career starts between defensive ends Anthony Goodlow and Nathan Latu, but the bulk of rotation returns.
Defensive end Kody Walterscheid is the most experienced player of the group with 17 starts and 50 games played, but he is joined by three other returners with OSU starting experience in nose tackles Collin Clay and Justin Kirkland and defensive end Xavier Ross.
In addition to that group, younger players Jaleel Johnson, DeSean Brown and Aden Kelley are also returners who have seen meaningful playing time in their Cowboy careers.
OSU added one graduate transfer this spring, bringing in defensive end Obi Ezeigbo from NCAA Division II's Gannon University, where OSU defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo worked before coming to Stillwater. Ezeigbo played 37 games and recorded 108 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 14 sacks at Gannon.
Defensive end Armstrong Nnodim also arrived early this spring from the high school ranks, and seven others provide added depth.
