STILLWATER – Oklahoma State remained perfect on the spring exhibition season with a 5-2 win over Oral Roberts Saturday night at Neal Patterson Stadium.
With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 4-0 on the spring. They return to Neal Patterson Stadium Saturday against SMU in their final spring exhibition game of the season.
Logan Heausler led OSU against the Golden Eagles, posting a hat trick with three goals, while Nicole Ray and Gracie Bindbeutel also found the back of the net.
The Cowgirls got out to a hot start with Heausler posting her first goal in the eighth minute to give the home team a 1-0 lead. It took just 15 minutes for Heausler to add another one and make it a two-goal advantage.
Oral Roberts brought it back to one with a goal in the 33rd minute, but the Pokes didn't quit going into the half. At the 40-minute mark, Ray scored on a free kick to make it 3-1 at intermission.
Coming out of the locker room, Heausler was back to her scoring ways with another goal to complete the hat trick and make the lead three for OSU.
Bindbeutel added to the lead with a penalty kick in the 62nd minute before ORU would get back on the board five minutes later to make the final score 5-2.
Goalie Grace Gordon started the first half and gave up one goal, and the second half saw Caroline Dill head into the net and have a similar performance, allowing just one score.
Heausler now has four goals on the spring, which trails only Xcaret Pineda's five for team lead.
