Position Preview: Wide Receivers
April 12, 2024 | Cowboy Football
Brennan Presley and Rashod Owens return at wide receiver after serving as the primary targets in 2023. Presley, is a super senior in his fifth year and is within reach of OSU's career record for catches. He ranked No. 3 in the FBS and No. 4 in OSU history with 101 receptions last year and led the team with 991 receiving yards. Owens finished with 895 yards on 63 catches and led the team with three 100-yard receiving games.
De'Zhaun Stribling is another key returner for the Cowboy wide receiver room. He was among OSU's leaders last year in both catches and receiving yards after four games before missing the remainder of the season to injury. He has 1,271 yards and 11 touchdowns on 109 career catches and should be a key figure in the offense.
Talyn Shettron and Cale Cabbiness also have meaningful playing experience.
A young group who could be the future of the position at OSU includes redshirt freshmen Camron Heard, Tykie Andrews and Jalen Pope, as well as true freshman Tré Griffiths who arrived early this spring. Eight others add depth.
