Position Preview: Fullback and Tight End

The Cowboys lost key pieces in Josiah Johnson and Braden Cassity from 2023 but brought in graduate transfer tight end Tyler Foster from Ohio and returns tight ends Quinton Stewart and Tabry Shettron, as well as fullbacks Jake Schultz, Bryce Drummond and Luke McEndoo.
True freshman tight end Josh Ford also arrived early for spring practice, a player whom Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy has spoken highly of upon making his way on campus.
"They're [Ford and defensive lineman Armstrong Nnodim] doing very well," Gundy said."It's just so difficult for them, particularly, just the overall physicality and contact of padded practice at this level. I use the example of they should be thinking about prom and graduation and after they get out of lunch going to the lake and stuff. They're out here with us, and it's a different world for them."
"Offensively, Ford can hold his own. Now, their heads may be spinning, and they might go the wrong direction, but they're further along. Disciplined, so they can kind of battle and fight through things that some other high school players wouldn't."
