April 10, 2024 | Cowgirl Equestrian
STILLWATER – Eleven Oklahoma State equestrian student-athletes earned a spot on the NCEA All-Academic teams released Wednesday afternoon, with seven earning first-team honors.
This is the third consecutive season where OSU equestrian produced seven first-team selections, which is tied for the second-most in program history.
Fifth-year senior Sydney North highlighted this year's list of first-team selections, as she received the honor for the third time in her career. It's also her fourth time on an All-Academic team, having been named to the second-team as a sophomore in 2021.
Grace McReynolds earned a spot on the first team for the second time in her career. This is her second-straight year on the first team.
The other five riders were named to the first team for the first time in their careers: senior Paige Jones, junior Quincee Clark and sophomores Tristan Bagby, Abby Budd and June Roberson. It's Clark's second time to be named to an all-academic team, having earned a spot on last year's second team.
Riley Hogan is the lone Cowgirl selected to the second-team. She is a two-time all-academic team member, landing on the first team last season.
Three Cowgirls earned honorable mention status: Peyton Baxter, Mackenzie Carreras and Claire McDowall. It's the first time for each of them to receive all-academic recognition.
Fifteen more Cowgirls were selected to the NCEA Academic Honor Roll, bringing the total to 26 OSU equestrian student-athletes to earn NCEA academic recognition.
First-team selections must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 while competing in at least 70 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides.
To earn a minimum of honorable mention recognition, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 while competing in at least 50 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides.
