STILLWATER – Oklahoma State had its three-game winning streak snapped Tuesday as the Cowboys fell to Utah Tech, 9-8, in the first of a two-game midweek series at O'Brate Stadium.

With the loss, the Pokes dropped to 7-5, while the Trailblazers are now 2-11.

Tyler Wulfert led the way for the Cowboys offensively, going 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs, while Colin Brueggemann went 2-for-4 with a homer and drove in two runs.

Aaron Weber took the loss on the mound for the Cowboys to fall to 1-1 as he allowed four runs on three hits in two innings of work. The right-hander struck out two and issued three walks.

Utah Tech jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, plating a run in the first and three more in the third, before OSU cut its deficit in half in the bottom of the third as Brueggemann and Wulfert collected RBI singles with two outs.

The Trailblazers added singular runs in the fourth and fifth, then plated two more in the seventh to extend their lead.

OSU cut its deficit to three in the home half of the seventh when Wulfert delivered a three-run homer to right field. The round tripper was the senior's second of the season.

The Trailblazers added another run to go up 9-5 in the eighth before OSU rallied again, getting an RBI single off the bat of Avery Ortiz before Brueggemann delivered a two-run bomb to cut the deficit to one.

OSU fell short in the ninth with two strikeouts and a fly out.

The two teams conclude the series Wednesday at O'Brate Stadium with a 4 p.m. first pitch.
