Cowboys Fifth At Duck Invitational

Day 1 Results
EUGENE, Ore. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up its 36-hole day at the Duck Invitational on Monday with a 575 total and tied for fifth place at Eugene Country Club.
The Cowboys opened play with a 1-under 283 during the morning round to share first place with tournament host Oregon at the par-71, 6,997-yard layout. OSU posted a 292 during its afternoon round to finish the day at 7-over par and tied with San Jose State. The Cowboys will begin tomorrow's final round just three shots behind tournament leaders Illinois and Oregon.
Fifth year Rayhan Thomas opened with a 4-under 67 to hold the 18-hole lead by a shot. Opening his day at the fourth hole, he carded his first birdie of the day at the fifth. He would move back to level par for the day with a bogey at the 10th. However, he would birdie the 12th and follow with birdies at Nos. 15, 16, 17 and 1 to get to 5-under for the round before posting a bogey at the third to close his round.
Thomas posted a 73 during his second round to stand in a three-way tie for second place at 2-under 140 and three shots off the pace of Fresno State's Matthew Manganello.
Freshman Preston Stout also found himself inside the top 10, sharing ninth place with a 71. He carded a 74 during his second round to finish the day tied for 23rd place.
Senior Bo Jin carded a 1-over 72 to stand in 18th place before following with a 74 during his second round to move into a tie for 32nd place at 146.
Freshman Gaven Lane carded a 76 to stand in a tie for 67th. He bounced back with a 71 during his second round to climb 26 spots into a tie for 41st place at 147.
Coming off his first win of the year in the squad's last outing at the Pauma Valley Invitational, senior Jonas Baumgartner posted a 73 to share 26th place. He followed with a 75 and is tied for 46th place at 148.
A pair of Cowboys are competing individually with freshman Johnnie Clark carding rounds of 76 and 73 to stand at 149, tying him for 43rd place. Sophomore John Wild posting a 78 and a 77 to finish at 155 and tied for 77th place.
