Cowgirl Indoor Track & Field Returns to Top 5 of USTFCCCA National Ratings Index Heading Into NCAA Indoor Championships

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's indoor track & field each remained in the top 25 of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Ratings Index, the organization announced today.

The Cowgirls return to the top 5 at No. 4, which ties the program's highest-ever ranking set earlier this season. The main change in the Cowgirls' rating are due to Molly Born jumping from No. 17 to No. 6 in the 5,000 Meters with her performance at the Big 12 Championships. Gabija Galvydyte also jumped from No. 13 to No. 4 in the 800 Meters with her school record-setting time of 2:01.07 last weekend.

Seven Cowgirls find themselves ranked in the top 10 of their respective events, with four of them ranked in the top 5. In addition to Galvydyte, Taylor Roe (5,000 Meters), Winny Bii (Triple Jump) and Billah Jepkirui (3,000 Meters) are each ranked fourth in their events. Born and the Cowgirl Distance Medley Relay are each ranked No. 6, with Jepkirui also ranked No. 7 in the Mile.

On the men's side, the Cowboys dropped one spot to No. 18 following their second-place finish at the Big 12 Championships last weekend. Brian Musau and Ryan Schoppe are ranked fifth and sixth, respectively in the 3,000 Meters, with teammate Alex Maier ranked tenth and No. 15 in the 5,000 and 3,000 Meters. Denis Kipngetich also sneaks into the top 15 in the 5,000 Meters.

Up next, the Cowboys and Cowgirls will travel back to Boston to compete in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the TRACK at New Balance March 8-9. Tickets for the championships can be purchased here.
