STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State wrestling team landed at No. 4 in the final NWCA Coaches Poll of the season, the organization announced today.
Oklahoma State narrowly edged out fifth-ranked Iowa State to be the Big 12's highest-ranked member. The Cowboys defeated Iowa State, 21-12, last month in Gallagher-Iba Arena, one of OSU's three top-five wins on the year. Missouri and South Dakota State placed 10th and 11th, respectively, while Northern Iowa was not far behind at No. 15. West Virginia was the Big 12's sixth and final ranked team this week at No. 19.
The No. 4 ranking also marked OSU's first top-five appearance in the final NWCA Coaches Poll since doing so in four straight seasons from 2016-19.
With a perfect 8-0 record against league opponents, the Cowboys will open postseason competition at the Big 12 Championships in Tulsa, Okla., on March 9 and 10.
