Cowgirls Drop Round Two Of Bedlam In Norman

NORMAN, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team could not overcome a strong offensive effort from in-state rival Oklahoma, suffering a 91-56 setback in front of 8,059 fans inside Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Cowgirls drilled five 3-pointers in the first period, but trailed 25-18 after the Sooners connected on 10 of their 20 shot attempts from the floor.
OSU stayed within striking distance throughout the second quarter, trailing by five on several occasions. The Cowgirls got within 40-35 at 1:14 in the period before an OU trey with 18 seconds left int the frame sent the home team into the locker room with a 43-35 advantage.
The Cowgirls trailed by eight at 50-42 with two minutes gone in the third quarter before OU reeled off an 11-2 run to push the margin to 19. The Sooner would use a 29-point quarter to build a 72-48 advantage heading into the final period.
The Sooners would outscore OSU 19-8 in the final frame to secure the season sweep.
Three Cowgirls scored in double figures with Hannah Gusters leading the way with 14 points, while Anna Gret Asi added 12 points and six assists and Quincy Noble finished with 10 points in the contest.
