Cowgirl Indoor Track & Field Wraps up Day One of DeLoss Dodds Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Oklahoma State men's and women's indoor track & field traveled up north and competed in the first day of the DeLoss Dodds Invitational Friday in Manhattan, Kan.
Following yesterday's start of the Skujyte Pentathlon and Fritz Heptathlon, Will Quintana picked up right where he left off and took third overall with 5,008 points in the Heptathlon, making him fourth on OSU's all-time list. Crayton Shaw finished right behind Quintana earning himself fourth in the event with 4,862 points.
In the field, Blair Anderson took third in the men's Long Jump with his leap of 7.42 meters, earning fourth in school history. Over in the throws ring, Sam Mason was able to set a new personal best in the Weight Throw today with his toss of 20.39 meters. His throw made him just the second Cowboy in program history to cross the 20-meter threshold in the event, joining Cowboy Olympian Nick Miller, who owns the school record set in 2014.
On the women's side, Triple Jump school record holder, Winny Bii, brought home first in Long Jump with her jump of 6.06 meters, which ranks third in program history.
On the track, Ty Cook and DJ McArthur showed out in the 600 Yard Run. The pair claimed the top two spots on the podium with times of 1:08.62 and 1:09.22, respectively. In the women's 600 Yards, the Cowgirls dominated the event, taking home each of the top four spots overall. Tamara Woodley tied her personal best, which leaves her second on the program leaderboard, just .10 off the school record set in 1985 by Leisa Davis-Knowles.
Finishing it on the track for the women was Kevriana Scott in the 1,000 Meters who placed first with her time of 2:51.94.
OSU continues on the track for day two of the DeLoss Dodds Invitational at Kansas State tomorrow at the K-State Indoor Track in Manhattan.
