Stailee Heard Named Big 12 Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas – Following a standard-setting week, Oklahoma State's Stailee Heard was named the Big 12 Player of the Week it was announced today by the league office.
Heard helped the Cowgirl basketball team bounce back from its first loss of the year with a career-high 29 points in OSU's win over Houston Christian on Wednesday.
She hit 11 of her 14 shots from the floor in the contest and made all seven of her attempts from beyond the arc for the best single-game 3-point percentage performance in school history, surpassing Leslie Day's 6-of-6 outing against Missouri on Feb. 22, 1992. Her performance is tied for the second-best in Big 12 history, behind only Iowa State's Stacy Frese (8-8) in 1999.
The Sapulpa, Okla., native also grabbed 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Heard tallied an assist to go with three steals and a career-best two blocks.
Two days later, Heard led OSU to victory over Alabama State with her first career 30-point game, finishing with 32 points on an 11-of-18 shooting effort. She knocked down eight of her 11 3-point attempts and finished with 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the year.
She tallied a season-best six assists to go with a block and two steals as well.
Heard made her first five 3-pointers of the contest, giving her a string of 13 consecutive makes dating back to OSU's contest against Richmond. Her run was one shy of matching the NCAA record of 14 consecutive made 3-pointers.
