Cowgirls Get Back On Track With 93-39 Win Over Houston Christian

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 93-39 win on Wednesday night over Houston Christian in front of 1,777 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
OSU improved to 8-1 on the year, while the Huskies fell to 2-5.
The Cowgirls raced out to a 15-0 lead behind a 12-point outburst from Stailee Heard, who drilled all four of her 3-point attempts during that span.
OSU would close the period on a 13-2 spurt to take a 28-4 lead. The Cowgirls hit 11 of their 15 (73 percent) shots from the floor, while holding the Huskies to a 2-of-17 (12 percent) effort.
OSU would continue with the hot hand in the second, hitting seven of its first 11 shot attempts to extend the margin to 44-10 at the midway point of the stanza.
In addition to Heard's 12, Micah Gray scored nine points in the half to reach the 1,000-point plateau for her career.
OSU would take a 53-13 lead at the break.
The Huskies got a pair of 3-pointers early in the third, but the Cowgirls countered by hitting five of their first six shots from the floor to lead, 66-23, four minutes into the half.
The Cowgirls overcame seven turnovers to win the third quarter, 21-18, after Anna Gret Asi drilled a 3-pointer in the closing seconds to give OSU a 74-31 advantage heading into the final 10 minutes.
OSU would start the fourth on a 14-0 run and Heard buried two more treys during that stretch to set her new career high with 24 points. She would finish the night with 29 points. The Sapulpa, Okla., native would finish with a 7-of-7 night from beyond the arc for the best single-game 3-point percentage performance in school history, surpassing Leslie Day's 6-of-6 outing against Missouri on Feb. 22, 1992.
Additionally, Heard grabbed 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Ténin Magassa finished with 15 points and 10 boards for her first double-double as a Cowgirl.
