Cowgirl Soccer Duo Collects Academic All-America Honors

AUSTIN, Texas – Two Oklahoma State Cowgirls were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Women's Soccer Team.
Mollie Breiner collected CSC Academic All-America First Team honors, while Alex Morris was named to the third team. It marks the third time in program history that multiple Cowgirls have earned the distinction in the same season.
With their selections, Breiner and Morris become the ninth and 10th student-athletes in Cowgirl Soccer history to earn CSC Academic All-America status and the first since 2021. OSU's program now counts 13 CSC Academic All-America honors in its history.
Breiner becomes only the third Cowgirl to earn CSC first-team recognition, joining Krista Lopez (2010-11) and Hannah Webb (2020).
A native of Broken Arrow, Okla., Breiner graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in applied exercise science last May and earned a minor in neuroscience this fall. She carries a 3.97 grade point average and was given the Big 12's Dr. Gerald Lage Award, which is the conference's top academic honor.
Breiner finished her career as a four-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team performer, and she was a three-time CSA Academic All-District selection.
On the field, Breiner capped her five-year playing career as a defender by capturing All-Big 12 Second Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Fourth Team accolades as a senior. She tied her career high with a pair of goals and played the full 90 minutes in 14 of OSU's 21 matches.
Breiner helped lead OSU to a 14-5-3 record and an NCAA Championship berth as she anchored one of the top defenses in program history. The 2024 Cowgirls ranked fourth nationally with 15 shutouts and opened the season with nine consecutive clean sheets.
During her career, Breiner played in 89 games, 80 as a starter, and recorded six goals and three assists while seeing over 6,600 minutes of action.
Morris also competed in her fifth and final season in 2024.
A Frisco, Texas native, Morris graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in biology/pre-medical sciences in May 2023 and is working towards a graduate certificate in health care administration.
Carrying a 3.89 GPA, Morris was named the 2024 Big 12 Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year and was also a recipient of the Dr. Gerald Lage Award. She was a four-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree and collected CSC Academic All-District recognition three times.
Morris was tabbed an All-Big 12 First Team defender in 2024 and also picked up United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Third Team honors after posting a career-high four goals to go along with five assists.
A wingback for the Cowgirls, Morris was an integral part of a defense that racked up 15 shutouts, and she was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week four times.
In 87 career matches in an OSU uniform, Morris recorded six goals and 16 assists.
