RUN IT BACK
The second-ranked Cowboys will be looking to defend their Midwest Regional title after suffering their first defeat of the season at the Big 12 Championships at the hands of BYU. Despite the loss, Brian Musau established himself as a bonafide national title contender with his second straight victory at the Big 12 Championships in as many tries. The Cowboy sophomore enters the regional meet ranked No. 3 in the latest FloTrack poll with four other Cowboys also appearing in the top 40.
Â
On the women's side, the Cowgirls are fresh off a fourth-place finish at the Big 12 Championships behind a trio of top-10 teams. Josphine Mwaura and Sivan Auerbach each earned All-Big 12 honors with career-best finishes at the conference meet.
Â
In order to secure automatic qualification to the NCAA Championships, both teams will have to finish in the top 2, with the possibility for each to earn at at-large bid with top-4 finishes. At last year's regional, the Cowboys and Cowgirls dominated the proceedings at home as they scored a combined 49 points, which was less than any team scored for an individual gender.
