Cowgirls Roll Past Texas Southern, 87-57

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team defeated Texas Southern, 87-57, on Monday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The win improves OSU to 3-0, while the loss drops Texas Southern to 0-3. The Cowgirls are now 8-0 all-time against the Tigers.
Anna Gret Asi scored a career-high 33 points and tied her career-best in three-pointers with seven.
Micah Gray tallied her 900th career point, Stacie Jones grabbed her 200th rebound and Asi buried three triples as the Cowgirls jumped out to a 33-11 lead in the opening period.
In the second, the Cowgirls held Texas Southern to 25% shooting as it took a 47-28 lead into the half.
At the half, the Cowgirls were shooting 53% from the floor and held the Tigers to only 24%. Asi led the way at the break with 13 points.
Coming out of the locker room, Asi hit back-to-back three-pointers to extend the Cowgirl lead to 23.
Asi scored 13 of OSU's 16 points in the quarter as the Cowgirls took a 63-42 lead into the final period.
Macey Huard tallied a pair of three-pointers in the fourth to ice the game away.
The Cowgirls' defense was stifling, holding the Tigers to 29% shooting from the floor and 16% from three.
The Cowgirls are back in action at Gallagher-Iba Arena against Fairfield on November 16 at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
