Cowgirl Softball Concludes Day One of Cowgirl Shootout

STILLWATER — Day one of the Cowgirl Shootout ended in a tie as Team Black and Team Orange finished with nine runs apiece on Wednesday night at Cowgirl Stadium.
Karli Godwin hit three home runs for Team Black, which marks her third, fourth and fifth long balls of the fall season. Tara Vandewater also notched her first home run of the fall season in the contest.
Amanda Hasler led Team Orange with two home runs of her own, marking her second and third of the fall season.
Team Orange started out hot, leading 9-2 after three frames. Team Black responded with three runs in the fourth to trim their deficit, then added a singular in the sixth to make it 9-6 heading into the final frame.
Vandewater started the seventh off with her long ball, which cut the deficit to two runs. Following a Megan Delgadillo base knock, Godwin came up to bat and blasted her third long ball of the game, a two-run shot, to tie the game at 9-9.
The Cowgirl Shootout concludes with game two tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Cowgirl Stadium.
As a reminder, the game is free admission and open to the public. There will be a free autograph signing on the field at the conclusion of tomorrow's contest.
