STILLWATER – The dynamic duo of Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon is returning to Stillwater to serve as grand marshals of America's Greatest HomecomingTM.
The Oklahoma State University Alumni Association announced the selection of the former OSU quarterback and wide receiver today along with the kickoff time of 6 p.m. Both Weeden and Blackmon are members of OSU Athletics' Hall of Honor and were a part of Cowboy football's thrilling 2011 season that included capturing the Big 12 Conference title and a win over No. 4 Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl.
"There were few things more thrilling to watch in Boone Pickens Stadium than a 'Weeden to Blackmon' connection," said Dr. Ann Caine, OSU Alumni Association president. "We're thrilled to have Brandon and Justin return for America's Greatest Homecoming as two of our all-time greats celebrating OSU's greatest tradition."
"Stillwater is a place that always felt like home. I love the environment and the atmosphere, and the people are fantastic," Weeden said. "We have the greatest Homecoming in the country, and I'm excited to be a part of something very special."
As grand marshals, Weeden and Blackmon will take part in several Homecoming events during the week, including the Homecoming Pep Rally, Sea of Orange ParadeTM and the presentation of Homecoming awards during the Arizona State vs. OSU football game. With kickoff set, the parade on Nov. 2 will start at 9 a.m. at 9th and Main streets traveling north to Hall of Fame Avenue.
OSU alumni and friends are encouraged to register for Homecoming 2024 online at ORANGECONNECTION.org/homecoming. Events for alumni begin on Sunday, Oct. 27 with the Sign Competition and Orange Fountain Dyeing in front of the Edmon Low Library, which is also when this year's Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned.
America's Greatest HomecomingTM has been presented by the OSU Alumni Association since 1920 and is sponsored by Love's Travel Stops.
