Vaitaityte Breaks Pentathlon School Record on First Day of Razorback Invitational
January 26, 2024 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma State indoor track & field hit the track Friday for day one of the Razorback Invitational at the Tyson Track Center.
Kicking off the festivities with a bang, Olivija Vaitaityte broke the school record in the Pentathlon with her personal-best score of 4,162 points. She previously held the third-place spot set in 2022, also at the Razorback Invitational. Vaitaityte's mark currently ranks her fifth in the NCAA in the event as she set new indoor personal bests in the Pentathlon Shot Put and 800 Meters on her way to the record.
On the men's side, Philip Frank finished day one of the Heptathlon where he currently sits in seventh place with a score of 3,079 points. All eyes are on Frank as he is currently ahead of Max Braht's school-record pace in the Hep, with the final three events taking Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. CT.
In the field, pole vaulter Lauren Smith cleared a new personal best bar with her mark of 3.98 meters Friday, which ties her for second in school history.
Continuing in the field events, Kileigh Mixon takes over the ninth spot on OSU's all-time leaderboard in the High Jump as she cleared 1.67 meters in just her second collegiate meet.
In the men's High Jump, Kade Benjamin put himself on OSU's all-time list as he cleared 2.02 meters in his first meet in the orange and black.
OSU returns to the track tomorrow in Arkansas for the second day of the Razorback Invitational at the Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville. Coverage on SEC Network+ begins at 11 a.m. CT.
