Cowgirl Soccer Shuts Out K-State For Fourth-Straigtht Win

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State continued its winning ways Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Kansas State at Neal Patterson Stadium.
With their fourth consecutive win, the Cowgirls improved to 10-2-0 and 3-0-0 in Big 12 play and remained perfect on their home field at 7-0. K-State fell to 2-6-3 and 0-2-1 in conference action.
Xcaret Pineda notched her fifth goal of the season, while Logan Heausler found the back of the net for the seventh time, tying Hannah Chance for the team lead, as OSU outshot the visitors, 21-9.
Grace Gordon and company neutralized the Wildcat offense, with the OSU goalie recording three saves to post her third-straight shutout and fifth of the season.
Pineda got the Cowgirls on the board in the 40th minute, threading a left-footed shot from 25-yards out past three defenders and off the near post.
Heausler sealed the win in the 83rd minute as she blasted a loose ball in the box past KSU keeper Murphy Sheaff. It marked the fourth consecutive game in which Heausler has scored a goal.
The Cowgirls return to action Thursday when they host UCF, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Neal Patterson Stadium.
