Five Cowgirls Named ITA Scholar Athletes

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its academic awards for the 2022-23 season, with Oklahoma State Women's Tennis receiving multiple honors.
Five Cowgirls were named ITA Scholar Athletes for the 2022-23 academic year, while the OSU Women's Tennis program was named an All-Academic Team for the eighth consecutive year.
The five ITA Scholar Athletes brings the total to 68 in Oklahoma State program history, with 52 coming under current head coach Chris Young.
Two Cowgirls made repeat appearances as ITA Scholar Athletes, as Alana Wolfberg earned the honor for a fourth time and Martina Zerulo a third time.
An OSU trio of first-time recipients joined them as Ayumi Miyamoto, Kristina Novak and Lucia Peyre each made their debuts as ITA Scholar Athletes.
According to the ITA, a team must have a combined grade point average of 3.2 or above, have all student-athletes listed on the institutional eligibility form and have all letter winners factored into the cumulative team GPA to qualify as an All-Academic Team.
Student-athletes must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better and be listed on the institutional eligibility form to earn ITA Scholar Athlete honors, according to the ITA.
