Cowgirls Add Highly-Coveted Transfer To Backcourt

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has boosted its backcourt with a highly-coveted transfer in Kennedy Fauntleroy it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.
"We are thrilled to add Kennedy to our Cowgirl family. Last year she proved to be one of the best point guards in the country as a freshman and we can't wait to help her prove herself again," Hoyt said.
"A scoring point guard is a coveted position for us and the style we play and Kennedy is all that and more."
A native of Upper Marlboro, Md., Fauntleroy enjoyed a productive season as a freshman at Georgetown in 2022-23. She was unanimously named the Big East Freshman of the Year and to the league's all-freshman team as well.
In league play, she averaged 11.9 points and 4.3 rebounds to go with 2.7 steals and 2.9 assists over 19 contests. Additionally, Fauntleroy was named the Big East Freshman of the Week on six occasions.
Overall, Fauntleroy played in 30 games, making 29 starts for the Hoyas and finishing as the squad's second-leading scorer at 10.9 points per outing. The 5-7 guard also averaged 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.4 steals per game.
Fauntleroy was tabbed as a four-star recruit and was ranked No. 74 overall by ESPN Hoopgurlz coming out of New Hope Academy. Additionally, she was named the 2020-21 MaxPreps Maryland Player of the Year after averaging 16.4 points, 4.7 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 steals per contest.
