Seven Cowgirls Attain NFCA All-Region Honors

STILLWATER – Seven members of the No. 6 national seed Oklahoma State softball team have been awarded Midwest All-Region honors by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Seven selections to the NFCA Midwest All-Region teams ranks second in program history to the 2021 Oklahoma State squad, which totaled eight All-Region honorees.
All-Region first team members Kelly Maxwell, Lexi Kilfoyl, Micaela Wark and Chyenne Factor headlined the group.
In her second year as the Cowgirls' ace of the pitching staff, Maxwell has earned first team All-Region honors for a third year in a row. In the midst of her third consecutive triple-digit strikeout season, the redshirt senior leads the Big 12 in strikeouts (198) and opposing batting average (.150).
Senior right-hander Lexi Kilfoyl has combined with Maxwell to be a dangerous one-two punch for the OSU pitching staff. With a 2.02 ERA and 12 wins on the season, Kilfoyl is responsible for the Cowgirls' lone no-hitter of the season, an 11-strikeout performance against Maine on March 3.
Micaela Wark has made an immediate impact in the top half of the Cowgirls' batting order in her first season of collegiate softball. A member of the 2023 Big 12 Conference All-Freshman team, the Pokes' first basemen ranks in the top three among all Cowgirls in home runs (nine), RBI (46), total bases (85) and slugging percentage (.570).
The captain of the Cowgirls' outfield and a four-time All-Big 12 honoree, Chyenne Factor is having a career year in her fifth and final season at OSU. Boasting a .382 batting average, the Pokes' centerfielder is on pace to set new career-highs in hits, runs, and on-base percentage.
Rachel Becker and Kiley Naomi were named to the All-Region second team.
Becker has put on a season-long offensive clinic in her first season at OSU and the final season of her collegiate career. The first team All-Big 12 infielder boasts a .564 on-base percentage, which ranks sixth among NCAA DI hitters, while her .457 batting average ranks seventh in NCAA DI. She set a new OSU program record with 49 consecutive games on-base from February 10 to April 29.
Kiley Naomi has been one of the most improved players in the country this season. The NCAA DI active leader in games played, Naomi leads Oklahoma State in home runs (10), RBI (53) and stolen bases (12) and is one of just two Cowgirls to start all 55 games this season. The 2023 All-Region honors marks the second of her career.
Katelynn Carwile rounds out the group of All-Region Cowgirls as a as a third team honoree.

Carwile owns top marks among her teammates in doubles (16 – second), on-base percentage (.435 – fifth) and RBI (35 – fourth).
For the fourth consecutive postseason, the Pokes begin the NCAA DI Softball Championship as host of the NCAA Stillwater Regional.
The Cowgirls' open Regional weekend against America East champion UMBC on Friday at 3 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
