Eight OSU Wrestlers Earn First-Team Academic All-Big 12 Honors

Complete Academic All-Big 12 Teams
STILLWATER – Eight Oklahoma State wrestlers were named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Five of the eight Cowboys had earned the honor in previous seasons, including Daton Fix (Master's in Leisure Studies), who is making his fourth appearance on the Academic All-Big 12 team. Dustin Plott (Agribusiness), Gavin Stika (Master's in Agribusiness), Trevor Mastrogiovanni (Entrepreneurship) and Luke Surber (Agribusiness) were each named to the first team for a second-straight season.
OSU's first-time honorees include Konner Doucet (Agribusiness), Victor Voinovich (Applied Exercise Science) and Carter Young (Applied Exercise Science).
As a team, the Cowboys' 3.04 GPA set a program record for the highest team semester GPA in the fall since records have been kept.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
