Cowboys Third After 36 At The Thunderbird

Round 1 Results
PHOENIX – Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 36-hole total of 554, 14-under, to share third place at the Thunderbird Collegiate on Friday at Papago Golf Course.
The Cowboys opened play with a 10-under 274 during their opening round at the par-71, 7,503-yard to stand in second place. OSU followed with a 4-under 280 during the afternoon to come in tied with North Carolina.
Arizona State stands at 545 and a shot clear of Arizona in the team race.
Individually, four players shared the top spot at 8-under 134.
Senior Hazen Newman shared fourth place following an opening 66, which featured five birdies and an eagle. After an afternoon 74, he moved into a tie for 17th place at 140.
Junior Bo Jin found himself in the top 10, sharing ninth place after posting a 68. He followed with a round of 69 during the afternoon to maintain his position at 5-under 137.
Junior Jonas Baumgartner's 69 tied him for 18th place, while fifth year Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen opened with a 71 to stand in a tie for 35th place. Baumgartner carded a 72 during his second round to stand in a tie for 24th place and Neergaard-Petersen rose 11 spots into the group at 141 with a 70.
Fifth year Leo Oyo opened with a 73, tying him for 50th place before using a 68 during his second round to move into a tie for 34th place.
A quartet of Cowboys are competing individually..
Senior Dillon Stewart and freshman John Wild each posted scores of 72 and 69 to stand at 141 and tied for 24th place.
Sophomore Jordan Wilson opened with a 70 before carding a 76 to get in with a 146 total and tied for 56th place.
Senior Rayhan Thomas' scores of 77 and 71 tied him for 66th place at 148.
